Once a year, my youngest brother visits me for a weeklong stay in Los Angeles from our native Mariposa, CA. Seeing that he’s six, we have quite a gap in food preference and tastebuds. I spend most of the visit spinning my own holistic flare on his classic Wonder Bread palette. Mac-and-cheese morphs into quinoa noodles, herb infused Ghee, goat cheese, and almond crumbles to top. As imagined it takes a healthy amount of trickery and convincing to fool this one because something six-year-olds haven’t developed yet is masking honest thoughts.
During this last heat wave, he was craving something more exciting than water, so I created a raw, naturally sweetened lemonade for him that contained vitamin C, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin K, pectin fiber, with digestive, immune, and allergy boosting properties.
