Spiced Holiday Milkshake |
This milkshake is so tasty. It’s become a weekly indulgence for me! I created it when I was doing a lot of baking for my husband and family over thanksgiving that included a whole lot of dairy and sugar. I couldn’t eat the baked goods (without getting a serious food hangover!) so I tossed together some of my favorite ingredients to make something that would satisfy me and keep me healthy at the same time. I really like making this shake with cashew milk (made the same as your standard almond milk), for it gives it a really creamy ice-cream-like mouth feel. The Spirulina can be omitted, but I thought why not?! The taste isn’t strong and it adds some awesome health benefits. I topped mine with some toasted coconut I had made for some cookies! Delicious.
RECIPE | raw
3 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk or cashew milk
10 small frozen bananas
2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon Spirulina
1/2 teaspoon maca
1/2 to 1 teaspoon sea salt
In your blender combined milk of choice, bananas, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, vanilla, Spirulina and salt. Blend until creamy, pour into glasses and top with a bit of pumpkin spice. Enjoy!
