Today, we stand at a very special lunar threshold. We can use the powerful energy of Scorpio by committing to manifesting the shifts we'd like to truly make happen, or we can turn around and go back to the way things have been. Desiree Pais of Benshen shares a practice that teaches how to walk through this experience with perseverance and direction.
D | The 11th of November welcomes the New Moon in Scorpio. Scorpio is one of my favorite signs to work with for it’s one of the most transformative signs in the astrological line up. As a fixed water sign, Scorpio has a depth to it, just as the ocean holds its deepest blues. Scorpio invites passion, transformation, death and rebirth. In Chinese Medicine, Water is related to the Kidney’s, which is the seat of our willpower and lifeforce. This New Moon presents the possibilities to see where it is in our lives that we’re lacking discipline, how it's affecting us, and what are the steps we can take to move forward.
Guilt and shame are emotions that have become all too common. The fact is that they're completely useless emotions and they only take up energy from our precious reserve. Think about the times when you’ve felt guilty or ashamed because you didn't do what you said you would do, whether for yourselves or others. Maybe all you wanted to do the rest of the day was engage in sabotaging behaviors or lie in bed and do nothing? The quickest way to become powerless is to not keep our agreements, our word, our intentions. What blocks us from doing so is our emotions and subconscious getting in the way. This moon offers us a chance to look at all the spaces in our lives where we find ourselves trying to make changes, inspired to make changes, but then somewhere along the lines, we fall off because it becomes too challenging to keep up. We feel something too deeply and we give up. These cycles are potent with opportunities for transformation - for healing. The most challenging spaces we find ourselves in are the ones that will alchemize into our greatest potential for growth if we can only go through.
One of my favorite reports from Kaypacha on Mystic Mamma quotes:
“In every single problem there is a solution, there’s a key, there's some medicine, there’s a healing. There’s a potential, there’s a possibility, it’s pregnant. Every problem, every irritability, every anger, every emotion that we have is pregnant with a potential knowledge, a potential learning, a potential opening.”
Scorpio New Moon supports us in making the lasting changes we want to experience in our lives. Key word being lasting since it’s so easy to start, get inspired, witness transformation, and then fall off the wagon, using old habits as a strange reward for doing “good”. This lunation offers us an opportunity to focus on doing one thing, just one thing, that we can keep up with, day-to-day, that will create lasting changes.
The Eve of the New Moon is a wonderful opportunity to write down three things you want to see manifest in the next month. Get very specific. Write them down in the present so that the subconscious mind can get to work making it happen faster. And then write down one action step that you will commit to for each manifestation you want to see happen, and commit to doing it. For example:
Intention: I have clear, radiant skin
Action step: I will treat my skin kindly, wash it less, do less to it in order to allow it to heal as my body knows how to heal
Intention: I completed all my projects and tasks for work with ease
Action step: I will spend one hour per day working on all the tasks I need to complete (rather than waiting till the last minute and stressing out).
Intention: I have a lean, strong, and healthy body
Action Step: I will go to yoga or workout four times per week, and also make sure I rest to allow my body to recover.
Place this paper on your alter and allow it to charge up over the month. Having accountability is a great way to make sure you complete each action step. For one of my older action steps, I have a friend keeping me accountable daily and if I do not do my action step, I have to pay her $20! Accountability is an incredible way to support one another in the pursuit of dreams.
