Before departing LA on Sunday, I caught the smallest cold. I curbed it quite quickly with my normal cold staples; however, I did bring along quite a bit of ginger and turmeric to make my favorite travel elixir daily.
This is one of the simplest formulas to make daily and it does wonders for boosting your immunity, toning your liver, keeping your skin glowing, combating inflammation from the "unusual" foods you'll be consuming, and providing loads of minerals. You can even throw a tiny dash of cinnamon, squeeze of lemon, and brandy or whisky in it for an alternative to a hot toddy.
Holiday Beauty & Immunity Elixir
2.5 c filtered water
1.5 inch of fresh ginger | sliced 1/4"
1.5 inch of fresh turmeric | sliced 1/4"
1 tbls raw local honey
PROCESS | bring water to a boil, add your root slices, bring to a light simmer, cover, and decoct for 20 minutes. Let it cool slightly (so it doesn't kill the enzymes in the honey), and then add your honey. Enjoy daily or multiple times a day.
